Andrew Pritchard

Director of Policy & Infrastructure, East Midlands Councils

Andrew is responsible for East Midlands Council’s work on infrastructure, transport (including the East Midlands Rail Collaboration Agreement) and development.  He acts as the principal advisor to Transport for the East Midlands (TfEM) chaired by the Mayor of Leicester Sir Peter Soulsby and to the East Midlands HS2 Executive Board. He is the professional lead for the EMCs Low Cost CPD programme for planners.  In addition, Andrew provides policy support to Midlands Connect, the sub-national transport body for the Midlands, and to the project team working to establish a locally led development corporation in the East Midlands. 

In a personal capacity, Andrew is a Corporate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), a Trustee and a Vice Chair of the Town & Country Planning Association, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. 

Andrew previously worked for West Devon Borough Council and Lincolnshire County Council. In 1999 he joined the East Midlands Regional Local Government Association (EMRLGA) to work on regional planning. In April 2003, Andrew moved across to the Regional Assembly as Director of Housing, Planning & Transport, and then over to East Midlands Councils in April 2010.
