Andrea Kitzberger-Smith MRTPI

Andrea is an experienced town planner, demonstrating strong leadership skills with a track record of delivering positive results working within planning in local government in England. Over her career, she has successfully led on numerous Local Plan and related planning documents, from inception through to completion and adoption.

Andrea is currently the Head of Spatial Planning at the London Borough of Hounslow, where she manages a diverse team of professionals in policy, plan-making, conservation, urban design as well as infrastructure planning including CIL and S106.  

Since becoming a chartered town planner almost 15 years ago, she has also been a very active member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, where she held previous positions on the RTPI’s Membership Panel and Membership and Ethics Committee.  She is currently an RTPI assessor, undertaking assessments of professional competence for a range of candidates following different routes to chartered membership.

Andrea is passionate about planning, place making and the environment, and a strong advocate for genuine engagement in the planning process, including the transformative power of planning in positively shaping people and places for all.
